WEEK 1 TIPS

START WITH THE CLUES.

Analyze the first clues to get familiar with the key people and timeline. Look for any potential gaps. As the case unfolds, it might be helpful to go back to prior clues to see if there are any details that now have new meaning.

TEXT STEVE BY CLUE 4.

If something looks off, ask Steve about it. He can set you in the right direction and only shares new information if you ask. He replies around his client meetings, but you’ll get a text back from a real person.

EACH WEEK IS AN EPISODE.

Week 1 is a piece of a 4-week plot. Think episode 1 of a mini series. Like any investigation, Week 1 will set up key relationships and background. Note all details that might be relevant. Some will matter this week, some will connect to future clues.

ORGANIZE CLUES TOGETHER.

You and your partner will receive different clues, so figure out how you’d like to share information together. Some partners just text clues, some create Dropbox folders, Google docs, or Pinterest boards — what ever works!
